Douglas Diary – Case Study
“My site is amazing. The fact that I am a dog and I can easily populate my blog simply by getting my master to send an email is amazing. Noah is a genius!”
My goal was to create Douglas’ Diary a professional, engaging, and functional website that kept their viewers hooked and returning every day to read their news.
I identified a number of objectives as follows:
I provided Douglas’ Diary with a website that is easy to navigate and permits the posting of blog posts with images via a simple email to the site. The design includes a bespoke logo and a complementary colour palette so as to maintain a familiar, well-branded look to visitors:
a) Content Management System
Central to the design of the website is a robust Content Management System (CMS) to allow Douglas’ Diary to make certain changes to their website without requiring any additional software.
b) Web Hosting & Business Email
Alongside the website, I provide Douglas’ Diary with monthly web hosting to ensure that their website is always online. I also provide a number of business email addresses with auto forwarding.
c) Domain Name Registration
I provided Douglas Diary with a .co.uk domain name (www.douglasdiary.co.uk)
d) Blog
I provided Douglas’ Diary with a blog to enable them to create and edit blog posts via their Content Management System. Additionally, they can post their blog updates by simply sending an email to the site, along with images.

g) Site Statistics
To assist Douglas’ Diary with growing their site I provide detailed visitor statistics helps them track, analyse and understand their visitors so they can make good decisions to become more successful online.
The number of people using mobile devices to browse the internet is now higher than ever. Google now penalises sites that are not responsive to mobile devices. I, therefore, created a website that is fully responsive on Laptops, PCs, Mobiles and Tablets.
